The DyDo project is a dynamic redesign of the Smile STAND app, integrating smart vending machine connectivity, health-focused rewards, and seamless purchasing to create a more engaging and convenient user experience.


DyDo GROUP HOLDINGS,INC.
The DyDo project involved a complete revamp of the DyDo Smile STAND app, aimed at enhancing user engagement and supporting DyDo Group Holdings, Inc.'s transition to smarter vending machine systems. Over the next four years, DyDo planned to upgrade most of its beverage vending machines to include Bluetooth connectivity for seamless online transactions. This redesign focused on integrating geolocation, step tracking, beverage purchase history, and reward systems to align with DyDo's mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle.
My Role
In collaboration with another designer, 24 high-fidelity frames were developed within one week. The existing app served as the foundation for maintaining brand consistency in colors, language, and overall design.
Challenges and Solutions
The accelerated timeline demanded swift execution without the luxury of wireframing. This challenge was met through agile collaboration and iterative feedback from the business team, ensuring that user-centric features were effectively implemented while maintaining brand consistency.
The DyDo app tracks user purchases and rewards consistent buyers with points that can be redeemed for free drinks, discounts, and exclusive offers, making every purchase more rewarding.

What makes it special?
Smart Vending Machine Integration
The redesigned app introduced seamless interaction with DyDo’s upgraded vending machines. Users could view live inventory, make purchases via Bluetooth, and earn rewards through consistent use. Each fifth purchase awarded bonus points, redeemable for free drinks or gift cards, blending convenience with engaging incentives.
Health & Lifestyle Incentives
To promote a healthy lifestyle, the app enabled users to set daily and weekly walking goals. Steps were tracked, and meeting goals rewarded users with Smile Stand points for discounts or free beverages. This feature connected DyDo’s brand to wellness, motivating users through gamified health tracking.
Enhanced Purchasing Experience
Recognizing the variability in vending machine inventories, the app incorporated search and filter functions directly on the home screen, allowing users to easily locate desired beverages. For added convenience, users could order online and have drinks delivered if visiting a vending machine wasn’t feasible.
Membership and Rewards Tracking
A dedicated membership tab allowed users to monitor progress toward goals and manage rewards. With saved payment information, purchases were streamlined—users simply tapped their phones at vending machines for instant transactions and bonus point opportunities.
